Their two-floor exhibit on vision consisted of several directly lit artifacts in an otherwise ever-so-slightly relatively dim room, presumably to set a mood. Examples include printouts of the exact same figures you would find on a Google image search on "color blindness test" and pictures that were printed in an interesting arc format (I don't know what the appropriate name to call it is because this section was unlabeled, and I am not sure what the point was but it may have been related to depth of field). To me, the most ridiculous example was a square area partially bordered by walls containing multicolored vertical columns lit by an overhead lamp that changed colors, thus changing the colors of the vertical columns (think how a multicolored flashlight might change the color of your room). In retrospect, many times there was nothing intrinsically wrong with the objects; however, there was no significant text associated with them that one could decipher learning points.

A really impressive facility in an incredible location with marvelous views of the Port of Miami. It's a pretty good aquarium with lots of interactive exhibits. A worthy successor to the Jack horkheimer Planetarium

The physical site clean impressive buildings with good restaurants, and lots to do in the area with good public transit.

I think this is one of Miami's Gems.

I was very impressed by the museum. Loved the way the aquarium is set up so you have 3 different perspectives on the fish. The jellyfish exhibits were magical. The views of the bay are second to none and absolutely beautiful, especially on the day we were there. Also had fun dancing on the light up floor. Great job to everyone and all the staff was friendly and helpful. Even the gift shop was fun!!

This place is magnificent

We were visiting from out of town, wanted something for our daughter to enjoy and this museum was part of our Children's Museum membership so we didn't have to pay like others who mentioned it wasn't worth the price. This museum is decent, clean with 5 floors worth of entertainment. Not as many hands on items or in depth information on things as the children's museum but enough to occupy a two year old to an hour easily.

The only redeeming quality of my visit was the experience of the architecture and location which afforded beautiful views of the bay, Government Cut, the city, etc. Everything else was very disappointing.

I include the most objective example that I collected yesterday in the attached pictures of the process of landing an airplane. Absolutely every one of these slides was incorrect. It seems like they got a video of a jet landing and asked a second grader to make up what they think is going on but did not consult anyone to fact check. Aviation is one topic that I know well, so why should I trust that I can learn anything about any of the other exhibits I know little about?

Overall, I thought that the museum was aesthetically beautiful but ultimately without any real substance related to science. I do not believe that any reasonably educated person can go there to actually learn anything. If your children are young enough, they might get stimulated to learn about something new, but the exhibits themselves are either overly superficial, devoid of facts altogether, or riddled with misinformation.

My children came away Bible about the things they've done and wanting to see more. The stingray tank would get a star all by itself.

I loved the old museum. I grew up going there being from Florida. This new museum is fantastic. The Me Lab is such a fun place for kids plus the Oculus is beautiful seeing the sharks and fishes circling around. The exhibits are fun and very educational and the Planetarium shows are a great experience. I've been to this museum many times since it opened and i bring as many people I can and I always have a great time.
