This university has a lot to offer. There's a few things that keep it from being perfect, but it covers everything you need. It has a lot of variety for degrees, food, hang out places... It's usually open late for late night studying. It's not loud, but it's also lively. Overall it's a great environment to study in. The onestop is getting a bit chaotic and I hope they can expand / add more staff to fix that, and it seems to be getting a bit greedy with the newer programs, but overall it usually seems to know what to do to correct problems. The Law building is amazing, and all the newer buildings are very high tech and modern. PG6 and the new medical building are beautiful.

Great place to learn and such but the school needs to be cleaned up in some places and a lot of shops close very early.

Anyone know the hours for the office of graduate studies? Because no one is ever there and they have no direct number or hours of operation on the FIU website. Also, if you are a graduate student in the clinical mental health program or rehab counseling program, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! If not, you will be delayed or enter a program that is not for you. Some classes are only offered every other semester or year (which was never told to me at the start), other courses get dropped just before the semester starts leaving you no other options! This two or in some cases two and half year program has turned into three for me! That being said, most of the professors in these programs are great! As for as teaching styles, what you learn, and how they prepare you and guide you thru the term has been very good.

The only reason I gave this school two stars is because the teachers are absolutely outstanding. If it were not for the teachers, this school would get zero stars! The rest of the staff really don't know what they are doing, as you can see from prior post. Onestop should be called "run around" because that is all you get there, if you get even that! Each semester I am assigned a new adviser, sometimes twice a semester. So each time you have to explain everything all over again. It is too bad that this collage can't hire better office personal. It took over six months for me to get refunded some money that the school owed me, and I had to work hard to get it; writing emails, calling (incompetent, untrained ) people. More emails to my various advisers, etc. It was a very long, frustrating process. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone unless I was telling them NOT TO go there!

Was here for a semester. All my teachers were very fair and friendly. The campus was very well kept and beautiful.
