I sent my old passport ( w/ a copy), my iD card ( 9 w/ a copy), the money order, the photo and the paperwork i had to get from the web, all on inside of an envelope along w/ a pre paid return envelope. A few days later i got the returns envelope and i was very happy , till i had it open. Inside there was the copies, the old passport, the money order and a note saying that i needed to send the original ID card ( which i sent in the first place). I immediately sent an e-mail telling that i did on the first time and someone there lost it. 24 hours later there was no answer. I tried to call and stayed on the phone for 128 minutes,( I was number #8 at the start and at the end when i was number #3 on the waiting line) after that believe or not , exact at the time they close, i got disconnected. Now i have a problem: I have no Passport and have no ID card. Seems that people on the Consulate do not care about the people who need service or are simply incompetent. I got a big problem now and do not know how to solve it.
I hated it every step of the way. Go back to work the way you guys used to. This new system of yours is a failure and it is a disrespect to all citizens. Shame on you!
If I could give ZERO stars I would. Their website is not working properly as their server has been down for weeks now and I've attempted to speak to them and I was put on hold for hours just so they would tell me it's my computers fault, if it's THEIR WEBSITE server that is down it has NOTHING to do with my computer, it has to do with their page. Now if would just SIMPLY help me or guide me to the PROPER server since the one on their website is INCORRECT it would be great. I suggest the Consulate to get their stuff together and have the proper link on their page so we could all do what we are supposed to do without this back and forth so I don't have to waste my time.
By far one of the worse places you could go to, but unfortunately due to the lack of other options you are obligated to deal with them, be ready to waste your whole morning waiting. Waiting times are insane so you better not have anything urgent like a trip planed close to the date you are planning on going. Also with the new ridiculous system of appointments only it just makes things worse because they didn't advertise made me wait 1 hour in line to tell me if you don't have an appointment we are not seeing you, the only thing missing was the guy to laugh in my face. Rude and unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe this place.
First time experience and went very well. Arrived a half hour before opening and waited in a short queue outside. Security let us in shortly after and assigned us numbers. Waited about 30 minutes before being called. Lady who was assigning visas was pleasant and professional. Asked a few questions, processed the paperwork, and told me I would have my visa in about 10 business days. Just make sure you have everything they require listed on their website: passport, letter of intent, pay stubs or bank statements, post office money order, and receipt from online application with your photo glued to the front. Come early and prepared and they will have you in and out quick.
