The staff especially the person that handles the birth certificate paper work is helpful. She answers the phone (very surprising) that you can talk to someone in the embassy. But still in all the birth certificate for some thing so simple should take from 6-14 to present and still waiting to get it so i can get my passport is very slow process. I do not blame the staff in the USA but in Trinidad because they should be able to do the job quicker than this because this paper work is very important to have to get the new passport .

They never answer the phone .I mailed in my paper work for a new birth certificate and the said I got the mail and i never got it .Then they said I have to pay for a new one .

I would give them zero star if I could. I have been trying to call this office for TWO MONTHS. No one answers, not even the operator. Every single extension provided rings out to a voicemail that is full so you cannot leave a message, even the operator. Unfortunately the history of poor customer service in Trinidad extends to the consulate office in Miami.

For several months I have been calling off and on in an attempt to schedule an appointment to apply for my first machine readable passport and have had no success either leaving a message or getting a human being with whom I could speak. This is an unacceptable lack of responsiveness to nationals that need the services of the consulate. I would give zero stars or a "poor" evaluation if those were options.

I am sorry to say but this is the most unprofessional and incompetent office that I know of in the U.S. I have been calling this office for the past two months no one answers the phone, it goes straight to voicemail and the box is full you can't even leave a message. I have proof if every call I made. I have also emailed the office and no one replied either. I paid and sent all my documents to renew my passport I got no reply of anyone receiving my documents. However I contacted Trinidad passport office and told that my passport was in Miami, yet still I did receive any contact from miami office. Today 1st August I went into your website and it showed that you are open from 9am to 5pm today. I went to the embassy to collect my passport and the security said to me that only he came to work today he was told by someone that, the embassy was closed today. He said to me that stuff like this always happen. Well done and good job Mr Consulate. Trinidad media is going to receive a copy of this review.
