This is not a unique situation. Many people were waiting for cars. I met a couple with young children visiting from Europe that had a reservation for a SUV and they were told it would not be available until late afternoon. When I left, they were still waiting for their car.
When I arrived at Alamo, I was told there was no cars available and that they would not have one for at least 2 hours. Well, 4 hours later they were very happy to inform me that my car was ready. The car was dirty inside and out and to add to this horrible experience, the fuel tank was empty. I had to leave that place and search for a gas station as the fuel light was on. The answer from the Alamo employee; “just return it empty”.
Jose was amazing. Handled the dramatic weather and got us a ride to the airport.

I don’t usually write reviews but if this one can help at least one traveler avoid this place I would be happy.
I had the reservation for 2 days since I was flying back the next day and returning the car at the airport at 1600. Of course they charge you for 2 full days even if it’s only 3 hours more but they don’t care making you wait 4 hours for the car.
I booked car online for next day - confirmed reservation. And next day I come there in the morning and they do NOT have any car there! This must be joke. I just planned trip, had everything ready - but they dont care - WE DONT HAVE ANY CAR, SORRY. Worst company ever! Never ever again.
I should have read the reviews before booking with them. Stay away from this place.
They know that once you’re there most people don’t have the choice but to wait. I unfortunately read the reviews after the fact but this is not an isolated incident.
Horrible service. Tool 40 min to get serviced with only 2 people in front of me! Personnel also unfriendly
Jose looked after my wife and i very well. Although they were swamped with customers and a car couldn't be made available on the spot, when we returned a couple of hours later Jose upgraded us to a nice family sized sedan, with fuel, and late return allowance. It pays off to be patient and loyal. Very happy with Alamo service. Jose is a very hard working operator. Thank you!
I made a reservation 3 months ago for a rental. We went on a cruise and decided to stay in Florida an extra day to do some shopping. I actually call the office as soon as we got alongside the cruise terminal to inform them that I would be there around 0900.
